Humanize AI essays so they sound like a student, not a summary
An essay drafted by an AI model has a recognisable shape: an introduction that announces three points, three body paragraphs of equal length that each make one of them, and a conclusion that repeats the introduction. Essays are among the documents Humanize 360 sees most, and the reason is that shape. Markers know it. So do detectors.
The flatness goes deeper than structure. AI essays argue nothing. They present "on one hand" and "on the other hand" and stop. They use "furthermore" where a person would use a full stop. Every sentence is medium length, every paragraph medium weight. Your own writing has a rhythm, a sentence you would cut short for effect, a paragraph that runs long because the idea needed it. That is what the engine restores.

What must survive the rewrite
- Citations in any format: author-year, numbered, footnote markers. Academic mode protects them by default.
- Quotations. Add a distinctive word from each quote to the protected list so the wording is never touched.
- Names, dates, figures and titles of works. The engine leaves numbers alone; names are safest on the protected list.
- Your thesis sentence, if you have one you like. Protect it and let the rest move around it.

Academic mode keeps the formal register, never adds contractions, protects citations and numbers, and still varies sentence length, cuts stock phrases and breaks the three-paragraph grid. What to add yourself
A claim you would defend in a seminar. One counter-argument you actually find hard, not a token one. A specific example from the reading rather than a general one. A sentence that says what you think, in the first person if your department allows it. Picture a student in Nairobi whose draft now reads like hers; the paragraph that earns the grade is still the one she writes from her own notes afterwards.
Honest use
If your institution bans AI assistance, this tool does not change that, and we will not pretend otherwise. If it allows AI with disclosure, use the tool and disclose. If you are unsure, ask before you submit. Common questions
Will a humanized essay pass Turnitin's AI detector?
No tool can promise that, including ours. Detectors change without notice and disagree with each other on the same text. Our essay checker shows which signals still read as machine-made; what the marker's tool says is outside anyone's control.
Does Academic mode change my citations?
No. Author-year references, numbered citations, footnote markers and quotations on the protected list are left exactly as written. The Changes view shows every edit so you can confirm.
